The obvious objection
“If the architect sits inside the design-build entity, who protects design quality and cost integrity?”
Two things do, and they are structural rather than promised.
First, an independent, built-in QA process holds the standard at every phase — an explicit review of design, cost and specification that work must pass before it advances.
Second, the three firms remain independent companies. Each keeps its own clients and its own name. None can afford to let CUBIT hand over a building that damages the reputation it trades on elsewhere. The safeguard is self-interest, not goodwill.
The standard set on day one is the standard handed over.
